Ever read an article by someone you cannot contact or respond to?

Keeping a close eye on NIA's 'Anti-Ai Movement Archive', I noticed two recent articles (concerning The Gathering's AI art and Xbox Ai artwork) by Natalie Fear at creativebloq.com. Which are great examples of many more like minded posts by numerous journalists on several tech news platforms.

I'd love to assert how NIA's 'involves generative Ai' logo would've solved this problem in both instances, but cannot contact the author

So, to the likes of tech platforms like Creativebloq.com, this polite post is mainly inspired by y'all.

Regarding the artwork that caused such offence in both of Natalie's cases covered by her recent articles, if the publishers she reports about had displayed NIA's 'Ai involvement' disclosure logo (below), the viewers would've been made aware from the start that the works were Ai augmented, at least reducing the insult to human artists' intelligence that the publishers' lies have caused.

If this logo had been displayed in the corner of Xbox' and The Gatherings' controversial artworks, there would be no need to lie about Ai's involvement, which only made matters worse. Better still, if the copyrighters could be penalised for not using this logo where lawfully necessary, they could be better held accountable!

So many times, I've read a journalistic viewpoint regarding life's mysteries, or some 'announcement' of what appears to be a new problem, only to read a comment beneath that challenges the article's report of fresh information, by providing a link to a source of the issue's previous acknowledgement. Or, better still, a one liner 'truth wisdom', such as: "when I was a kid, my Grandma used to overcome this by ___________"

Why are most news reports so unidirectional?

Certain posts or claims warrant ongoing discussion, by their very nature. If only to encourage circular logic and holistic debate, rather than 'projectile' style journalism that shoots out statement bombs to explode in the midst of online crowds, often addressing issues that need 'therapising' in ways that exceed the 'limited considerations' of the writers' perspective.

I appreciate the click-bait aspect, but wouldn't direct feedback or a running commentary attract more clicks?

There wasn't even a comments section at the end for people to respond.

I know my blog doesn't allow this sort of commenting either, but that's intended to encourage sign-ups to my dedicated online community group, for good reason.

Anyway, to cut a long story short... The biggest beef many have with the encroachment of generative Ai upon natural, human creativity, is unavoidable.

And most creatives, like me, are subconsciously aware that Ai is here to stay and will no doubt permeate our reality on an ever increasing basis. But when media producers, art-houses and brand empires take the moral high-road concerning the preservation of human integrity, but get caught lying about the level of Ai adoption involved with their products or services, surely this just adds fuel to the fire.

After wasting too much time trying to connect with Natalie, I find it hard to accept that I can't contact her to let her know that our NIA logo would help to soften the blow in other similar scenarios, so that she can relay this fact to her audience of readers.

Over and out.

Bestest vibes
